Every question, answered straight.

These come up across the consult table, in DMs and at tox parties. The answers are the ones Sam gives in person. Don't see yours? Text it to Sam.

The studio
Where is Seymour Beauty Aesthetics located?
209 Opta Street, Maurice, LA 70555, about 15 minutes south of Lafayette with free parking at the door. Clients come from Lafayette, Youngsville, Broussard, Abbeville, Milton and Scott.
Who performs the treatments?
Samantha Cormier, CRNA, FNP-C. She's a board-certified family nurse practitioner who spent her earlier career in anesthesia as a CRNA. Your consult and your treatment are done by the same person.
How does pricing work?
Your plan gets mapped with you at the consult, unit by unit and syringe by syringe, and you approve the exact total before anything begins. Membership pricing is published in full on the membership page.
Do you accept CareCredit?
Yes. Seymour Beauty Aesthetics is a CareCredit provider, so you can split treatment costs into monthly payments through them.
Do you take walk-ins?
By appointment only. It's the reason every visit stays private and doesn't feel rushed. Book online anytime, or text (337) 205-4843.
Do you treat men?
Yes. Tox, hair PRP and skin treatments get more popular with men every year. Same room, same discretion.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Do you offer Botox?
Sam carries Xeomin and Daxxify instead. Both are FDA-approved and treat the same lines Botox does. Xeomin is stripped of the accessory proteins Botox carries, and Daxxify tends to last longer.
How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?
About 3 months for Xeomin. Daxxify runs 3 to 5 months for many people, sometimes past that.
Will I look frozen?
Not if that's not what you want. Sam doses to keep movement unless you ask for more. You can always add more next time; you can't take it back once it's in.
Is there downtime?
No. Most people go straight back to work. Skip hard exercise until tomorrow and leave the treated area alone for the rest of the day.
What does a consult cost?
Nothing. You'll see your exact unit count and total before she treats you.
Who shouldn't get this treatment?
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain neuromuscular conditions, this isn't for you. Sam will say so at your consult.

Dermal Filler
Will filler look obviously done?
That's the exact thing Sam is working against. Good filler replaces volume you used to have; it doesn't add a new feature. Going back in later is much easier than dissolving an overfilled area, so she starts conservative.
Does it hurt?
Most filler already has lidocaine mixed in, and Sam numbs the area first. Most people rate it mild.
What if I don't like the result?
Hyaluronic acid filler dissolves. Sam offers dissolving as its own service, including for filler another provider placed.
Do you treat filler that isn't yours?
All the time. Bring whatever you know about the original product and Sam will take it from there.
Who isn't a good candidate?
If your main concern is deep sun-damage wrinkles or skin laxity from major weight change, filler alone won't get you there, and she'll say so in the room rather than sell you syringes.

Lip Filler
Will my lips look fake?
Overfilled lips are a technique problem, not a filler problem. Sam builds conservatively and respects your natural lip ratio.
How bad is the swelling?
Expect them to look bigger than you asked for the first day or two, worse in the morning. If you have an event, book two weeks out.
Is lip filler reversible?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler dissolves with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, and Sam offers that in-studio.
Can I get filler if I've had bad results elsewhere?
Yes, and it's common. Sam can dissolve the old filler first, let things settle about two weeks, then rebuild.
How many syringes will I need?
Most first-time clients use one syringe. Sam maps that out at your consult before anything is ordered.

Biostimulant Fillers
How is this different from regular filler?
Regular hyaluronic acid filler adds volume immediately. This triggers your own collagen, so the change is gradual and the tissue that builds is yours.
When will I see results?
Early changes can show within a few weeks. Most people see their full result 2 to 3 months after finishing the series.
Who is this best for?
People noticing overall skin quality decline, laxity or a crepey texture, rather than one specific wrinkle or fold.
Does it hurt?
Sam numbs the area first. Most people describe pressure more than sharp pain, and soreness that fades within a day or two.
How many sessions do I need?
Most series run a handful of sessions spaced weeks apart, mapped at your consult.

PDO Smuth Threads
Is this a thread lift?
No. A thread lift uses barbed threads to grab and reposition tissue, which is a more invasive procedure. Sam places Smuth threads instead. They support the skin and stimulate collagen where they sit, rather than pulling anything anywhere.
Do Smuth threads hurt?
You are numbed thoroughly first. Expect pressure and an odd tugging sensation more than sharp pain, and some tenderness for a few days after.
How long is recovery?
Plan on a few days of tenderness and possibly mild bruising. For two weeks, skip dental work and strenuous exercise, and go easy on big facial expressions.
Are threads safe?
PDO, polydioxanone, has decades of history as surgical suture material and fully dissolves on its own. The material is not the variable; placement is.
Can threads be combined with filler?
Often, yes, and around the mouth it is a common pairing. Threads handle the fine etched lines and the border while filler handles volume. Sam maps the order at your consult.

Chemical Peels
How much will I peel?
It depends which peel you have. The Perfect Derma Peel flakes visibly from day 3 through day 6 or 7. The FactorFive RDS peel is built the other way round, so most people get light flaking at most and some get none.
Can I have a peel in the summer?
The RDS peel, yes. It does not leave skin photosensitive, so it is the one Sam books through a Louisiana summer. Deeper peels she would rather do between fall and spring, when healing skin is easier to keep out of the sun.
Are peels safe for darker skin tones?
Formula and depth matter far more than any general rule, and the RDS peel in particular was designed to be used across the full range of skin tones. Sam assesses your skin in person before she picks anything.
Will a peel clear my melasma completely?
No single peel clears melasma. It responds to a series plus real sun discipline in between.
How does pricing work?
Sam maps your plan and gives you the total before anything starts. Members save $75 on a Perfect Derma Peel and $50 on a FactorFive RDS, every time, with no cap on how many you have in a year.

Microneedling with PRP
Does microneedling hurt?
You're numbed for twenty to thirty minutes first. Most people describe it as a vibrating, sandpapery feeling.
What's in the GLOW serum?
PDRN from salmon DNA, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, glutathione, vitamin C, PDO and TXA.
Should I add PRP, or is GLOW enough?
PRP adds concentrated growth factors from your own blood on top of the GLOW blend, and people who add it recover faster. GLOW alone does well for tone and mild texture.
How many sessions will I need?
Most goals respond to three, spaced thirty to forty-five days apart. Deeper scarring sometimes wants more.
How does pricing work?
Priced per session, with the total up front. Members get $75 off each session.
What do you do for deep or pitted acne scarring?
A combination, because no single treatment covers every scar type. Sam uses a cannula to break up the tethering that holds a rolling scar down, TCA CROSS to treat narrow pitted scars directly, and microneedling with PRP to remodel the surface. Which of the three you need depends on what your scarring actually is, and that gets worked out at the consult.

Hair PRP
Does hair PRP work?
There's real and growing clinical evidence for PRP in early thinning, particularly when it's started before follicles fully close. Sam tells you plainly if she doesn't think you're one.
Will it work on a receding hairline or a bald spot?
Not reliably. PRP needs a living follicle to stimulate, so it does best on diffuse thinning rather than skin that's already smooth.
I just had a baby and my hair is falling out.
Postpartum shedding is one of the two she sees most. A lot of it resolves on its own inside a year, so she talks through timing before you start.
Could something else be causing this?
Possibly. Thyroid function and low iron sit outside the scalp, and PRP fixes neither. She'll flag it and send you for bloodwork.
When will I see something?
Most people notice the shedding slow around six to eight weeks. Density changes show three to six months in.

Filler Dissolving
Can you dissolve filler another injector placed?
Yes. It's one of the most common reasons people find her. Bring whatever you know about the original product.
Will it hurt my own tissue?
Hyaluronidase targets hyaluronic-acid filler specifically. Your own tissue isn't affected, and the hyaluronic acid your body makes regenerates.
How fast does it work?
Breakdown starts within hours; the full effect shows over several days.
Will you judge me for wanting it out?
No. People change their minds about filler, and that's reason enough. You don't owe Sam an explanation.
Can I get new filler afterwards?
Yes. She'd wait about two weeks after the final session so everything has settled.

Medical-Grade Skincare
Why medical-grade rather than drugstore?
Concentration and formulation. These lines carry actives at strengths drugstore products aren't permitted to use, and that strength is why they are sold through a provider.
Do I have to buy products to be treated here?
No, never. Sam only recommends what supports what you're trying to do, and her reputation in a town this size depends on it.
Can you just look at what I already own?
Yes. Bring the bag to any visit and Sam will tell you what to keep and what to bin.
What if my skin reacts to something new?
Text the studio a photo. Mild dryness or purging in the first couple of weeks on retinoids or acids is normal. Beyond mild, she'll pause a product.
How does pricing work?
It depends which products you need. Sam walks you through it when she builds the routine, and members take 20% off the retail line all year.
